100 percent of donations go to nonprofits that receive grants from the PHL COVID-19 Fund. There are no administrative or credit card fees.
We understand many individuals and families are being affected by the outbreak. The Fund is focused on moving resources to community-based organizations that directly support local residents and families who are experiencing health, economic and social impacts from COVID-19.
While the Fund will not provide grants to individuals, we will be funding organizations that are trusted in communities and that are providing people and families with services and support. Yes, please visit www.PHLCovid19Fund.org and there is a section where you can learn about skills-based, virtual volunteer opportunities. You will be connected to a portal that connects professionals to nonprofit organizations based on talents and current needs.
Proposals received through the application process are reviewed by the Fund’s Grantmaking team and the Rapid Action Grants Review Committee. The Review Committee is comprised of philanthropy professionals from across the region who provide guidance and expertise during the review and selection processes.
In the decision-making process, the Grantmaking team considers the overall diversity of the slate of grants, including but not limited to: geographies served, size of organizations, vulnerable populations served and request types.
Organizations that receive grants demonstrate urgent and immediate needs, and support for populations that are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. These include seniors, children and families who are experiencing food insecurity, and those who have disabilities or who are experiencing homelessness.
Grants are awarded on a rolling and weekly basis. If you have not heard that your organization’s proposal has been awarded or declined for a grant, your proposal is still being considered. Proposals that have been reviewed and are not selected to receive a grant will be reviewed at least one additional time before a final decision is made.
Please apply only once. If the Fund shifts its focus to respond to different, emerging needs, organizations may be invited to apply again in future phases. Currently, the application process is closed.
We are collecting additional data from applicants and grant reports are in development. We are in touch with peer funders to discuss ways that we can understand the impact of our funding without creating undue burden on grantees. More information will be shared with grantees once requirements are finalized.
